Measurement is crucial for closed loop control because it provides the necessary feedback information for the control system to adjust its output and maintain the desired setpoint. Accurate and reliable measurements are essential for closed loop control to operate effectively and ensure the injection lines are operating at the desired setpoint within the lowest range of deviation.
Closing the control loop involves
- measuring the process variable
- comparing it to the desired setpoint
- using a controller (PID) to generate a corrective action
- sending the corrective action to the actuator
until the process variable reaches and maintains the desired setpoint.
